Another Modern Saint-in-the-Making?

Wow, the stories of mothers making a sincere gift of themselves by giving their lives for their children just keep coming: this is the story of Barbara Castro Garcia who, like Chiara Corbella and St. Gianna Molla, refused cancer treatment to protect her unborn child.  Her baby was born on Nov. 1st, 2010 and Barbara passed away this month after a grueling battle with mouth cancer that left her unable to speak or eat.  These stories simply continue to inspire and highlight the fact that love transforms all suffering into beauty.

Cool Stuff

FaithandReason.com is a new website initiative of Franciscan University of Steubenville with videos and articles by prominent Catholic writers, speakers and theologians on a range of different topics that is helpful in forming your faith.  Here is a sample video of Dr. Peter Kreeft, aka modern Catholic genius.  (Keep in mind as you watch/listen that he is delivering his talk as "Screwtape", a character from C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters" which if you're not familar with is a figurative collection of letters written by 'Screwtape' to 'Wormwood' - Screwtape is a demon who is basically giving his demon apprentice, Wormwood, tips on how to tempt and divide humans, so you have to read the book/listen to the talk as though you were overhearing the enemy's tactics being described.  PS I know sometimes I post long videos, but they're always worth it - put them on in the background while you're cleaning/painting/underwater basketweaving or something instead of watching Jersey Shore or The Bachelor:

Another new website is 1flesh.org promoting chastity and dissing contraception in a hip and catchy kind o' way.
